Frequently asked questions
Clear answers before you start a giveaway.
PromoProof helps agencies keep proof for free-to-enter promotional giveaways. Here are clear answers about what the service does and how the workflow works.
Product and process
What teams ask most often.
For legal questions about a particular giveaway, the promoter should get suitable advice. PromoProof saves the record; it does not approve the giveaway.
What is PromoProof?
PromoProof is proof software for agencies and promoters running free-to-enter giveaways. It keeps the important setup details, entry list, winner selection, and result in one workspace.
Does PromoProof run paid-entry prize draws or sell tickets?
No. PromoProof is deliberately limited to free-to-enter promotional giveaways. It does not sell tickets, take payment for entry, or operate a paid-entry draw.
Does PromoProof collect entrants?
No. The promoter still collects entries on its own campaign channels. PromoProof imports who entered so your team can check eligibility before a winner is picked — from a CSV or TSV file, or from comments and selected engagements on an owned Facebook or Instagram post.
Is PromoProof a giveaway winner picker?
Yes. PromoProof helps you pick a winner from an imported list of people who can win. It also saves the rules, list, method, time, and result, so you have more than a one-off random name.
Can we run Facebook or Instagram comment giveaways?
Yes. Connect an authorised Facebook Page (with Instagram Professional linked through that Page where needed), paste a post you own, and import eligible comments — and Facebook reactions where the Meta API allows — into the same review, freeze, and verified winner-selection workflow. CSV exports still work for other channels. TikTok and similar platforms remain export-then-upload for now.
Do terms need internal approval?
No. A complete acknowledged terms record can be published and locked directly. Agency or client sign-off remains available as an optional internal control.
Does PromoProof review terms or make a giveaway legally compliant?
No. PromoProof does not give legal advice, review a giveaway for compliance, or make that promise. The promoter remains responsible for the rules, giveaway design, advertising, entry collection, winner contact, and prize delivery.
What is saved before the winner is picked?
The final list of people who can win is saved, along with a record that shows it has not changed. The winner-picking settings are also saved before the public randomness used for the result is available.
What proof can be shared?
PromoProof can provide a public rules record, public certificate check, and downloadable evidence pack. Private entry data is not included in public records.
Who contacts and fulfils prizes for winners?
The promoter or agency does. PromoProof records those actions but does not contact winners automatically or fulfil prizes.
Ready to put it into practice?
Start with the giveaway details, then create the record.
The checklist helps you get the right information ready before your team opens the workspace.
