Giveaway checklist
Get the important details ready before a giveaway gets busy.
Use this checklist for a free-to-enter giveaway. It helps your agency save the right proof, but it is not legal advice and does not replace the promoter’s responsibility.
A simple run-through
Three points to keep on track.
Save important choices as you go. That is much easier than trying to work out what happened after the giveaway ends.
Before the giveaway opens
Make the giveaway details and information for entrants easy to find.
- Check the promoter, prize, dates, countries, age, and free way to enter.
- Prepare the rules and make them available to entrants.
- Decide how entries from each channel will show in the final list.
- Create the giveaway and save the rules in PromoProof.
Before you pick a winner
Turn the promoter’s entries into a clear list of people who can win.
- Import who entered — upload a CSV/TSV export, or connect Meta and pull comments from an owned Facebook or Instagram post.
- Match the fields you need to check, and apply engagement rules such as keywords or one entry per person.
- Note duplicates and entries you remove, with the reason.
- Confirm the final number and save the final list before you pick the winner.
After you pick a winner
Keep the proof together while the promoter finishes the giveaway.
- Save the winner record, certificate, and evidence pack.
- Record contact with the winner, acceptance, and any reserve action.
- Follow the rules for claims, announcements, prize delivery, and record keeping.
- Share a public verification link only when it is right for the giveaway.
Keep the boundary clear
Free-to-enter promotional giveaway, not a ticketed draw.
Before a campaign opens, the promoter should make sure its promotion design, terms, and advertising are suitable for the territory and channel. PromoProof records the process; it does not make the promotion legally compliant.
